La Compagnie des Chats is a restaurant / bar where you can are in the company of several cats. Really something for the cats lovers among you! You can have simple and cozy food and drinks. Les Halles in Avignon is a covered market with a astonishing green covered facade. There is room for 40 stalls where all kinds of Provençal tasty items are offered for sale. On weekends the local people come together to enjoy a glass of wine and enjoy culinary delights. You need to be on time because there is limited space. At Les Halles there is also a parking garage with 500 spots. From the roof you have a beautiful view of the city.
During the week besides monday opening hours are from 6 - 13.30 and in weekends from 6 - 14.00.
From August 12 to October 3, this year (2017) Avignon will again show a light show under the name of "Les Luminessences d'Avignon". The performance takes place on the Cour d'Honneur du Palais des Papes against the impressive facades of the Palais des Papes. The spectacle tells the history of the Papal palace through huge projections accompanied by music. The French-language version starts at 21.15 when it gets dark and there are also English-speaking performances at 22.15 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Entrance fees are standard 10 € and there is a reduced rate of 8 € for children up to 17 years and for visitors with a passport of the palace visit on the same day and for seniors over the age of 60 when showing a proof of identity.

With the Navette Fluviale "Le Ville d'Avignon", an electric ferry, you can go for free on foot and by bike to the other side of the river Rhone. The island of Ile de la Barthelasse is called the green lung of Avignon. You can download a map using bicycle and hiking routes via the following link.
In Avignon you can rent bikes. Across the water you have a beautiful view of the imposing Avignon. Here you can relax and enjoy a self-made picnic. In Avignon you can buy a variety of delicious snacks and a good bottle of wine at the Les Halles indoor market in the morning.

Restaurant Le Bercail in Avignon is beautifully located under the shade of plane trees across the river Rhone. It is very atmospherically furnished with a nice view of the old town with its Papal palace and the Pont d'Avignon. The menu includes fresh regional cuisine and from June to August you can also eat pizza. You can reach the restaurant by car but the easiest way is to take the free electric ferry (Navette fluviale "Le Ville d'Avignon"). Certainly in the summer it is best to book in advance.

Each year the Avignon festival is organized in July. Everywhere in the city there are performances from street theater to classical music. In addition to many French-speaking offers there are also performances by international artists.
