For the 2nd year (2017), the wine domaine of Ferme des Arnaud organizes every Thursday evening from mid July to mid-August a special event in between their vineyards. At the wine bar are all their organic wines for sale. They also offer very delicious bio fruit juices and ice cream from our favorite ice cream parlor Leone in Vaison. A local caterer provids nice food with the necessary choice and there is live music. Furthermore, everyone is welcome to sit at long tables between the vineyards during the most sultry nights. It is advisable to book in advance. We were just on time because the maximum number of 200 seats was reached again. It is situated at the south side of Villedieu village near the intersection.

Beautifully situated against the hills of Suzette you will find the organic wine-growing domaine La Ferme Saint-Martin. It is a 25 ha domain and they have already made organic wine since 1998. Our preference is for the red Costancia of 50% Syrah and 50% Grenache. The rosé for the summer is also delightful. We got to know the domain through a French friend who worked there and organizes organic wine salons. On the domaine there are several wine experiences offered in the summer including "le panier terrasse".

Domaine Roche Buissiere is located just outside the beautiful village of Faucon. Since 1980 the sympathetic couple has made organic wine on their 18 hectare domaine. Our favorite is the red Petit Jo that is a blend of grenache and syrah. In the cave you can also buy olives besides their wine and other regional products.

This year (2017) Mas Uncle Ernest celebrates his tenth birthday. The inspired and sympathetic Alexandre Roux took over the family business 10 years ago. Since 2015 as a fourth generation wine farmer he only sells organic wine. A conscious choice for the future and health to begin with for its own family. He makes special wines such as a light fresh red wine, but also a full ripened red wine.

On our blog we only provide tips on wine domains that grow organic wine. More and more domains are about organic wine growing. It is mainly the sons or daughters of the existing domains that choose to produce this way. After the Second World War pesticides have been used for convenience and higher yields. Now, many years later, after the vineyards have been treated with pesticides for decades, there is no longer life in the soil. This causes a lot of erosion because there is nothing in the earth that holds water and soil. In France, several documentaries have also been published that show the harmfulness of pesticides to nature and humans in the immediate environment. Those who use them are getting more and more health problems. There is a lot more cancer and even children in the area are born with pesticides in their blood. France is still in place 2 in terms of the use of pesticides. Fortunately, the Vaucluse is at the top of the list of areas where more and more organic wine-growing is taking place. We experience that the taste of the food in general and the wine is so much better. Bad organic wine hardly doesn't exist anymore and the organic wines are gaining more prizes on wine-making. The prices are really not much more expensive and besides the benefits to your own health, you also contribute to a healthier nature and a healthier living environment of the wine maker.
We are fans of Mas Pouperas wines. The first bottle we drank for a few years during a romantic dinner at La Belle Etoiles restaurant in the old part of Vaison la Romaine. It was the red unforgettable Funambulle. Besides Funambule (corddancer) they are offer their Je Fais un Rêve (I dreamed), Tu me fais tourner la tête (you make me "dizzy") and not to mention their rosé Pour toi (for you).
Their wine is for sale at the La Violette Mauve wine shop in Vaison la Romaine with sympathetic staff around the corner at the Place Montfort (3 rue de maquis open from 10h - 12h30 / 15h30 - 19.30)

This red organic wine of Domaine Grand-Père-Jules first attracted us through its stylishly designed label. It is a cepage of grenache, syrah and cinsault. The syrah is prominent in this full powerful red wine. The 4 generation old domaine has been producing organic wine on 30 hectares for 12 years (2016). On the domaine you will also find the tasteful La Tuilerie restaurant. So you can taste wine and buy wine before or after lunch.

Domaine Tales is beautifully located in Entrechaux overlooking the old castle. Since 2010 they have been completely transformed into organic wine-growing. The 15 ha is spread over Entrechaux, Vaison la Romaine and Roaix, which gives them a special variety of flavors. We find all their wines very tasteful and enjoy at home their red an rose 5 liter bag-in-box as our daily house wine.
You can visit the domain in the afternoon from 14:00.
