We are located between the vast vineyards of the Cotes du Rhone and the Cotes du Ventoux. Well-known wine villages in the area include Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, Roaix, Seguret, Vacqueyras, Beaumes-de-Venise and Vinsobres. Commonly used red grape varieties include Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre, Cinsault and Carignan. Planted white grape varieties include Viognier, Grenache, Marsanne and Picpoul.
We prefer organic wine for our health. Around our previous farm we have experienced how it is like to live with so much use of poison around you. It is a known secret that a lot of wine contains agricultural pesticides. Fortunately, many (young) wine farmers are now moving on to organic. In Entrechaux we support the 2 organic wine farmers Domaine Tales and Uncle Ernest.
Our favorite organic wine domaines in the area are Domaine Jean David (Seguret), Domaine de Mourchon (Seguret), Domaine Ferme Saint Martin (Suzette), Domaine Pique-Basse (Roaix), Domaine de Barral (Roaix), Mas Pouperas Vaison la Romaine), Domaine Chaume Arnaud (Vinsobres), Clos du Joncuas (Gigondas), Domaine des Adresse (Villedieu), La Roche Buissiere (Faucon), Domaine du Faucon Doré (Faucon), Domaine du Grand Jacquet (Mazan), Solence ), Domaine Le Grand Pere Jules (Violes).
We are in southern France at 24 miles (40 km) from Avignon and 74 miles (120 km) from Marseille. It is hilly here with many forests, vineyards and olive groves and the Mont Ventoux that extends everywhere.
